I’M LAURA.
I am an artist and photographer based out of a sweet, little town in Alabama. I have a small studio in my home where I create artwork and I spend most days with a paintbrush in hand. I love being able to give fleeting moments permanence through art. Living in a rural area has deeply influenced both the content and process of my work. I rely on what surrounds me – –my backyard, nearby waterways, local wildlife, farms––as subject matter and inspiration.
CREATING A SENSE OF NOSTALGIA THROUGH NATURE
My body of work consists of paintings and charcoal drawings. I work from photographs that I take of the wildlife and natural environments near my home and throughout Alabama. My works reflect the intimate, quiet moments in nature that often go overlooked. My goal is for viewers to reflect and find the narrative in the small moments found in nature.
